Altadis USA has informed retailers that prices on most of its portfolio will increase on average of two to three percent on any orders placed after November 17. Four lines, almost all of them new additions, are exempt—this includes Juan Lopez, Monte by Montecristo, RyJ by Romeo y Julieta, SLR Gen2 as well as all VegaFina products.

“We are subject to rising tobacco and manufacturing costs, which during the past few years continues to increase,” said Javier Estades in a letter to retailers. “Accordingly, we have been forced to revise our pricing structure to revise to reflect a portion of these increases.”

The increases are nearly identical to those of Altadis USA’s largest competitor, General Cigar Co.

Altadis USA raised prices last year citing similar production cost increases.
