AGANORSA Leaf will be updating the look of its Rare Leaf Reserve line and adding a new size.
The new vitola for the line is a 6 x 44 Lonsdale. It has an MSRP of $10.99 per cigar and comes in boxes of 15. Like the existing sizes in the line, the Rare Leaf Reserve Lonsdale is made entirely of Nicaraguan tobacco with a corojo-seed wrapper grown in Jalapa covering dual criollo 98 binders taken from two different farms, as well as a filler made up of both criollo 98 and corojo 99 tobaccos. Terence Reilly, vp of sales and marketing for AGANORSA Leaf, told halfwheel that he expects the new size to begin shipping following the 2023 PCA Convention & Trade Show, which takes place July 8-11 in Las Vegas.
In addition, the company is updating the packaging for the original Rare Leaf Reserve line, which it introduced just two years ago. The updated packaging includes updated graphics and fonts for both the boxes and bands that are similar to the ones the company uses for the Rare Leaf Reserve Maduro that the company introduced earlier this year. Beyond some differences in colors, the other way to tell the two Rare Leaf Reserve lines apart is that the boxes for the Maduro say “MADURO” while the boxes for the original blend say “COROJO” on the right front lip. Few companies, if any, have been as aggressive as AGANORSA Leaf when it comes to updating packaging over the last four years, including instances like this when it has redone packaging for a relatively new line.
The Lonsdale size is only being added to the original (corojo) blend. It will be a regular production size but only offered to retailers in the company’s AGANORSA Leaf Select Program.
