The latest from HVC Cigars will be on its way to retailers this week.
Reinier Lorenzo confirmed to halfwheel that the HVC La Rosa 520 will begin shipping this Thursday. Like the company’s name, the cigar pays tribute to Lorenzo’s home, Havana, Cuba. La Rosa 520 is the address that he lived at in Havana.
As for the cigar, it’s offered in a single 5 1/2 x 54 size. It uses a mixture of AGANORSA tobaccos—including a corojo 99 wrapper—from the Jalapa region, selected because it reminded Lorenzo of the growing regions of San Luis and San Juan y Martínez in Pinar del Río. It will be sold at just 10 stores with production limited to 150 boxes of 20.
Pricing is set at $9.60 per cigar.
The cigar is made at the AGANORSA-affaliated Tabacos Valle de Jalapa S.A. (TABSA) factory in Estelí, Nicaragua with production handled by a single roller.
