Gurkha’s Ghost line will be getting a pair of new sizes at the upcoming IPCPR Convention & Trade Show.
The company will be unveiling the Spook (4 x 60, MSRP $7) and the Phantom (5 x 58, $8). Both will come in 21-count boxes and will be packed without the tubes that have been used on some other sizes in the line.
Gurkha unveiled the Ghost line in October 2012, using a dark Brazilian Arapiraca Maduro wrapper, Dominican Criollo 98 binder with Dominican and Nicaraguan fillers. It launched in four sizes, Shadow (5 x 52), Asura (6 x 54), Angel (6 x 52) and Exorcist (6 x 60), with a fifth size, a 7 x 70, added at the 2014 IPCPR Convention & Trade Show. The line is made at PDR Cigars in the Dominican Republic.
Both of the new sizes will begin shipping immediately following the trade show’s conclusion on July 28.
I strive to capture the essence of a cigar and the people behind them in my work – every cigar you light up is the culmination of the work of countless people and often represents generations of struggle and stories. For me, it’s about so much more than the cigar – it’s about the story behind it, the experience of enjoying the work of artisans and the way that a good cigar can bring people together. In addition to my work with halfwheel, I’m the public address announcer for the Colorado Rockies and Arizona Diamondbacks during spring training, as well as for the Salt River Rafters of the Arizona Fall League, the WNBA's Phoenix Mercury, the G-League's Valley Suns, and previously the Arizona Rattlers of the Indoor Football League. I also work in a number of roles for Major League Baseball, plus I'm a voice over artist. Prior to joining halfwheel, I covered the Phoenix and national cigar scene for Examiner.com, and was an editor for Cigar Snob magazine.
