There will be a seventh installment of Camacho’s partnership with legendary football player and coach Mike Ditka, as the company will be releasing an updated version of the Ditka Throwback.
The Ditka Throwback features an Ecuadorian Habano 2000 wrapper, with Camacho’s full-flavored Original Corojo tobacco as the binder. A total of five different filler tobaccos from three distinct regions are used, Hondura Criollo, Honduran Original Corojo, Nicaraguan tobacco from the Condega region and Dominican pelo de oro. The result is “a bold smoking experience inspired by the hard hits and uncompromising intensity that Iron Mike instilled in the game of football,” according to the company.
It will come in a 6 x 54 Gigante vitola, packed 20 cigars to a box with 3,000 football boxes being produced. Single stick pricing is $12, while boxes will come with an MSRP of $240. Shipping is scheduled to start shortly after the conclusion of the 2016 IPCPR Convention & Trade Show, which runs July 25-28 in Las Vegas, Nev.
“The aroma of Ditka cigars in the air can only mean one thing, we’re getting close to the kickoff of football season,” said Dylan Austin, vice president of marketing for Davidoff of Geneva USA. “Coach (Ditka) has been a fantastic partner over the last few years and has inspired us to create a breadth of blends that reflect his uncompromising persona. The return or relaunch of the Ditka Throwback is no different and in my opinion, the best blend created to date under the Ditka by Camacho label. We’re very proud of the partnership, what we’ve been able to do with this cigar and excited for it to become the choice cigar for aficionados looking to amp up their Sunday game day celebrations.”
The Ditka Throwback originally debuted in 2013.
