Cubariqueño Cigar Co. has a new line, an extensions and event exclusive.

All of the cigars will be available on May 13 at the company’s 2nd anniversary party at Berkley Humidor in Berkley Heights, N.J. Two of those items will then go on for a more formal release at the 2017 IPCPR Convention & Trade Show in July.

The new line is Protocol Themis, a line described as the brainchild of William Agathis, one of the company’s partners. Themis, named after the Greek titaness of law and order, was blended by Agathis and Hector Alfonso Sr. of La Zona Cigar Factory/Espinosa Premium Cigars. It uses an Ecuadorian Connecticut wrapper over a Nicaraguan binder and fillers from Nicaragua.

“We are classifying Themis as a medium-strength cigar with full flavor,” said Agathis in a press release.

It’s offered in two sizes:

  • Protocol Themis Robusto (5 x 52) — $9.69 (Boxes of 10, $96.90)
  • Protocol Themis Toro (6 x 52) — $9.89 (Boxes of 10, $98.90)

The company’s Probable Cause line will also be getting a lancero. The 7 1/2 x 38 box-pressed vitola is priced at $10.50 and will come in boxes of 10. It uses a Mexican San Andrés wrapper, Nicaraguan binder and Nicaraguan fillers. Probable Cause is also produced at Erik Espinosa’s La Zona Cigar Factory.

Finally, the company will have a limited edition cigar for 2nd anniversary event. The cigar is called Guadalupe, a 6 x 52 box-pressed cigar that will be sold in soft packs of 10. The company is declining to disclose the blend and Berkley Humidor has not announced pricing, though a press release indicated that the blend has not been sold before. Guadalupe is limited to 100 bundles.
