Artesano Del Tobacco, the parent company of the Viva La Vida brand, has announced that it has signed an international distribution agreement with The Humidor Project.

Unlike most distribution agreements, which typically focus on just one or two countries, this will cover most of the world: Africa, Asia, Europe and the Middle East. It doesn’t mean that Viva La Vida cigars will suddenly be available in 100+ countries, rather, The Humidor Project now has the rights to market these cigars in those areas and sign local distributors to sell the company’s cigars in those markets. Companies like Arturo Fuente use this three-tier model, where a singular entity is responsible for managing most sales outside of the U.S.

“The distribution of Artesano Del Tobacco globally by The Humidor Project is a significant step forward, showcasing premium cigars like Viva La Vida and EL Pulpo Cigars. Ivan and Christian of The Humidor Project have demonstrated their commitment to quality and passion for these cigars, making them an ideal partner for bringing these exceptional smokes to enthusiasts in the global market,” said Billy and Gus Fakih, owners of Artesano Del Tobacco, in a press release. “This collaboration signifies a promising union that values the integrity and excellence of these Nicaraguan and Mexican blend cigars. It was clear from our conversation that you both have a genuine love for the Viva La Vida and EL Pulpo cigars. We have been actively seeking a partner who shares our passion for quality products, rather than just looking to add another item to their inventory.”

The Fakihs launched Artesano Del Tobacco five years ago and the company’s brands include Viva La Vida and El Pulpo, both of which are made by AJ Fernandez. Previously, the brothers owned The Cigar Inn, retail stores in Manhattan.
