ZR Cigars will debut its first Nicaraguan puro blend this summer during the 2023 PCA Convention & Trade Show.

The appropriately named ZR Cigars Nicaragua will include four different vitolas at launch: a 6 x 52 belicoso, a 6 x 60 gran toro, a 5 x 52 robusto and a 6 x 52 toro. According to  Zohar Riezman, founder of ZR Cigars, all four cigars in the regular production line will be packaged in 20-count boxes and individual MSRPs will range from $12 to $16 per cigar.

In an email, Riezman told halfwheel that all of the tobacco for the cigars is being shipped from Nicaragua to his company’s ZR Cigar Factory located in the Dominican city of La Romana where the cigars are being rolled. Boxes are scheduled to begin shipping to retailers “around Christmas,” according to Riezman.

ZR Cigars was founded in 2018 and is based in the Dominican Republic. The company features cigars blended by Cándido Rosario, who is one of Tabacalera USA’s Grupo de Maestros.

The 2023 PCA Convention & Trade Show runs from July 8-11 in Las Vegas.

I have been smoking cigars for over eight years. A documentary wedding photographer by trade, I spent seven years as a photojournalist for the Dallas Morning News and the Fort Worth Star Telegram. I started the cigar blog SmokingStogie in 2008 after realizing that there was a need for a cigar blog with better photographs and more in-depth information about each release. SmokingStogie quickly became one of the more influential cigar blogs on the internet, known for reviewing preproduction, prerelease, rare, extremely hard-to-find and expensive cigars. I am a co-founder of halfwheel and now serve as an editor for halfwheel.
