If you looked closely at your local brick and mortar retailer’s XIKAR case recently, there’s a small chance you might have noticed something different. Quietly, XIKAR has begun testing two new products—one lighter and one cutter—at a little more than 60 stores around the country.

XIKAR M8 Cutter

The new cutter is one that likely looks familiar. It’s known as the M8, a metal version of the X8 cutter. The M8 retails for $49.99 and is offered in bead blast, chrome silver and gunmetal finishes. It’s the third model in the X8 family alongside the original version and the larger X875 introduced earlier this year.

Joining the M8 is an all-new cutter design, known formally as the XIKAR 5×64 Turrim. As the name implies, the Turrim is the size of a 5 x 64 cigar, meaning it measures five inches tall by an inch in diameter. It’s a dual flame inline lighter that features a unique adjustment feature at the bottom of the lighter.

The entire bottom turns to adjust the flame with manual clicking providing feedback to the user when an adjustment has been made. XIKAR is making the 3.6g fuel capacity a large selling point of the lighter, so much so, it actually has a split fuel window.

The Turrim is priced at $79.99 and is offered in black, G2 and silver finishes.

Both products are expected to be available to all authorized XIKAR retailers on Feb. 1, 2015.
