At next month’s IPCPR Convention & Trade Show, XIKAR will unveil what it is calling its new flagship lighter, the HP4.

As you might infer from the name, the lighter features four jet torches under its lid, yet the company promises it will remain pocket friendly.

“The HP4 lighter evolves the XIKAR lighter family in a unique way, offering an all new look, feel and capabilities than previously seen,” said Kurt Van Keppel, ceo and founder of XIKAR, via a press release. “This quad flame lighter captures the super-car inspired essence of the High Performance Collection, offering a bold, luxurious appearance and powerful performance, reminiscent of an automotive machine,” he added.

Under the lid of the HP4 are four diamond jet flames that are angled to create an apex and concentrate the heat of the lighter, resulting in a more efficient lighting process of any cigar. A large thumb pad on the front of the lighter is simply pulled down to allow fuel to flow and provide the requisite spark.

Additionally, the HP4 features two oversized, red-tinted fuel windows that reveal how much fuel is left in the lighter, while an in-line fuel adjustment wheel allows the user to customize the size of the flame to their preference.

The HP4 measures 3.3″ x 1.4″ x 1.2″ (84mm x 35mm x 30mm) and weighs in at 4.55 oz (129g).

It comes in five colors: black, G2, blue, Chopper Orange, and Daytona Red, finishes designed to match the colors of most any car enthusiast. Each color comes with an MSRP of $119.99.

It will begin shipping to retailers in mid-July, following the trade show.

The XIKAR HP4 is part of the company’s High Performance Collection and its culmination of automotive inspired design, styling, finish and extensive engineering, which the company says results in “the ultimate supercar inspired lighter.”

I strive to capture the essence of a cigar and the people behind them in my work – every cigar you light up is the culmination of the work of countless people and often represents generations of struggle and stories. For me, it’s about so much more than the cigar – it’s about the story behind it, the experience of enjoying the work of artisans and the way that a good cigar can bring people together. In addition to my work with halfwheel, I’m the public address announcer for the Colorado Rockies and Arizona Diamondbacks during spring training, as well as for the Salt River Rafters of the Arizona Fall League, the WNBA's Phoenix Mercury and previously the Arizona Rattlers of the Indoor Football League. I also work in a number of roles for Major League Baseball, plus I'm a voice over artist. Prior to joining halfwheel, I covered the Phoenix and national cigar scene for Examiner.com, and was an editor for Cigar Snob magazine.
