For the first time ever, XIKAR has a lighter that does not require butane.

It’s called the XIKAR XFlame, a battery-powered lighter that uses an electronic coil to light cigars.

To light your cigar, you first need to activate the XFlame, which can reach temperatures around 500 degrees. From there, you place the foot of your cigar—up to a 62 ring gauge—inside the top end of the XFlame, which will light your cigar.

There are a few benefits to the XFLame. First, because it does not use butane, the lighter is not only able to be traveled with but also doesn’t need to be refilled. Instead, it has a rechargeable USB battery. Furthermore, because it does not use a flame, it’s also as windproof as any lighter on the market.

While the XFlame is new for XIKAR, the product is not new. It’s a rebranded version of the Fuego Robusto USB Lighter that has been on sale for the last year. XIKAR entered into an agreement with the company behind the Fuego lighter, including a licensing and manufacturing agreement.

The XIKAR XFLame retails for $69.95, about $5 more than the list price for the Fuego, though the XFlame carries XIKAR’s lifetime warranty on the lighting mechanism, i.e. the battery and electrical unit. The top of the lighter has grates which sit underneath the coil itself, those will eventually need to be replaced, something that is not covered under warranty. XIKAR consider this to be a result of wear and tear.

In addition, XIKAR is selling the top unit as the XIKAR Burner Coil for $19.95. It can also be purchased to be used with a variety of vape mod kits instead.

XIKAR will debut the XFlame at next week’s IPCPR Convention & Trade Show in Las Vegas and began shipping the unit to stores in August.
