“I don’t remember there ever being a cigar auction with such an impressive catalogue of Pre Embargo Havanas,” said Mitchell Orchant, managing director of C.Gars Ltd. “The quality and range is magnificent as is the excellent provenance. Lot 357 is a super rare cabinet of 250 cigars in impeccable condition and appearance.”

Orchant said Lot 11 is one of his personal favorites of the auction, another item with the name Invencibles. This time time it’s a 50-count jar of La Corona Invencibles No. 2, another pre-embargo cigar measuring 5 1/2 x 42. Auction estimates for that lot are between £3,000-4,000 (approximately $4,500-6,000).

C.Gars Ltd has hosted actions since 2009, in recent years the company has hosted both a spring and winter auction. This year’s June auction brought in £435,000 ($680,000) with both buyers and sellers paying a 15 percent fee to C.Gars Ltd. Like previous auctions, it will be held at The Bulgari Hotel in Knightsbridge with the event starting at 2 p.m.

Once again, an online bidding system will be established, something that proved particularly lucrative in May when a box of Dunhill Tubos sold for nearly triple the auction book estimate in large part thanks to heavy bidding online.

Davidoff and Dunhill are once again very represented. Orchant said that the 23 Davidoff lots come from three sellers well known to C.Gars Ltd.

On most any other day, Lots 292, a Habanos 1994 Humidor, and 336, a humidor containing 120 cigars from the La Corona brand, would stand out as headliners, but this particular auction is heavy on both humidor and pre-embargo cigars.

In addition to the aforementioned lots, there are partial humidors of the Bolívar Centenary and Cohiba 35th Aniversario and full lots of the Cohiba Siglo X humidor, Cubatabaco 25 Aniversario, El Rey del Mundo 120 Aniversario, H. Upmann 160 Aniversario, Habanos 510 Aniversario and the Montecristo Compay 95th Anniversary, which includes 40 Salomones II.
