Earlier this year, Wichita Falls, Texas passed a smoking ban that restricted smoking in almost all businesses; now, the ban could be coming to the rest of Wichita County.

The Wichita Falls-Wichita County Public Health District will propose the smoking ban to officials in the remaining areas of the county: Burkburnett, Cashion Community, Electra, Iowa Park and Pleasant Valley.

While bars and restaurants in Wichita Falls are now smoke-free, tobacco and electronic cigarette stores were exempt. In order to meet the exemption, no more than 25 percent of sales can come from non-tobacco product and accessories.

Wichita County has a population of 130,000, over 100,00 of which comes from Wichita Fallas. It is located in north central Texas on the Oklahoma-Texas border.
