I guess my excuse for this being late is that it’s Labor Day, so I took some time off. The big news of the week was out of Santiago, DR (or wherever Guillermo León was at the time), my beloved La Aurora 107 Lanceros will be shipping boxes of twenty-one on October 7, 2010 (10/7) for an initial limited release. My favorite cigar law blogger, Frank Herrera, had news out of Cuba regarding arrests (or investigations) involving high-level members of Habanos S.A., including Mr. Manuel Garcia. Arango Cigar Company has released their latest cigarillo, Partido. In addition, Olde Punta Cigar Shop (Punta Gorda, FL) has a new house exclusive called Luca Del Toro.
Hurricane season is underway… so far no damage to the cigar industry as of now. In smoking ban news: Greece has a new one and somebody thinks Houston’s is working. The Washington Post had an interesting article about cigar box collecting and the Walter Reed Hospital.
Finally, a large congratulations to Tatiana Miranda, face of the Tatiana flavored cigars and daughter of Nestor Miranda, and b, newly-promoted director of finance for Miami Cigars, on their engagement. Now Jason… seriously get back to work.
Finally, Pete Johnson talks about the much anticipated Tatuaje Anarchy.
