Weekly News (July 1, 2013)

Editor’s Note: It’s odd to think how close the trade show is. It’s by far the most interesting calm before the storm I’ve seen in the industry, and I think there’s a lot of evidence to suggest that this year will be a lot different. Over the next 12 days there will be a lot of new product announced, but for a lot of reasons, a lot less than most would imagine. Our IPCPR guide will be published next week and provide a good idea of what you can expect, and a bit of what will be missing. I’ve written about this before, but I think there will be a bit of a pivotal moment in the industry regarding whether or not retailers will let manufacturers slow down.
