One of Warped’s sister projects, Venture 1492, will get an eponymous cigar next month.

The Venture 1492 Gran Corona is a 5 1/2 x 48 parejo that uses a Mexican San Andrés wrapper over a binder from Cotúi, Dominican Republic and fillers from Nicaragua and the Dominican Republic. It has an MSRP of $10 per cigar and it will be offered in boxes of 25 cigars.

TABACALERA LA iSLA—located in Santiago de los Caballeros, Dominican Republic—is making the cigar. The Venture 1492 Gran Corona will launch at an event at Napa Cigars in Napa, Calif. on Feb. 5 and ship to stores nationwide on Feb. 7.

Venture 1492 is a consulting service launched by Kyle Gellis, Warped’s founder, for other cigar companies that offers assistance when it comes to both branding and distribution. So far, Chogüí is the only known client of Venture 1492.

I am an editor and co-founder of halfwheel.com/Rueda Media, LLC. I previously co-founded and published TheCigarFeed, one of the two predecessors of halfwheel. I have written about the cigar industry for more than a decade, covering everything from product launches to regulation to M&A. In addition, I handle a lot of the behind-the-scenes stuff here at halfwheel. I enjoy playing tennis, watching boxing, falling asleep to the Le Mans 24, wearing sweatshirts year-round and eating gyros. echte liebe.
