Warped Cigars has announced that it will be creating a cigar for Hawaii’s R. Field Wine Co.’s 30th anniversary later this year. The company showed off a picture of one of the 10-count boxes of a new La Colmena, which it said would be released in September and limited to 200 boxes, but declined to talk size, price or whether the blend was modified.

The La Colmena line was introduced last year with two regular production sizes and a limited edition size. Since then, two additional sizes have been added, one of which used a modified blend. Interestingly, Warped’s Kyle Gellis did indicate that this would be the last time La Colmena would be used an exclusive for retailers.

If original plans hold true, there will be at least one more La Colmena released around that time, the new Unico Especial, which has not been announced.

The regular La Colmena blend uses an Ecuadorian DesFlorada wrapper, Ecuadorian binder and fillers from the Dominican Republic and Nicaragua. It is made at El Titan de Bronze in Miami.

R. Field Wine Co. exists inside seven FoodLand locations in Hawaii. The store specializes in high-end wine, premium cigars and locally-made food. It was founded in 1985 and acquired by the Sullivan Family of Companies, parent of FoodLand, in 1998.
