At the 2014 IPCPR Convention & Trade Show, Warped showed off its new La Colmena line, a pair of regular production cigars along with one cigar that was described as an exclusive for retailers who attended the Las Vegas trade show.

That cigar, the La Colmena Unico Especial, a 5 x 48 closed foot torpedo, was limited to 1,000 jars of 10 split up into quarterly shipments. Earlier today, Gellis announced that he had shipped the final 188 jars.

At the 2015 IPCPR Convention & Trade Show, Gellis told halfwheel he had no immediate plans to replace the Unico Especial and more recently has said that the La Colmena blend will be off limits for retailers wanting a private label.

The La Colmena blend uses an Ecuadorian DesFlorada wrapper, Ecuadorian binder and fillers from the Dominican Republic and Nicaragua. The Unico Especial was produced entirely by one roller, Jose Santiesteban.
