Warped Cigars has announced its newest release, Sarto, which is scheduled for a November release.
According to a report by Cigar Aficionado, the blend is designed to be full-bodied and the strongest cigar that Warped has ever released. To achieve that, the blend reportedly uses a Connecticut broadleaf wrapper, a binder from Estelí, Nicaragua, and fillers from three regions in Nicaragua: Estelí, Jalapa and Ometepe. The report indicates it will be offered in three sizes:
- Sarto Robusto (5 x 50) — $14 (Box of 14, $196)
- Sarto Toro (6 x 52) — $15 (Box of 14, $210)
- Sarto Double Corona (7 x 54) — $16 (Box of 14, $224)
The cigars are said to be produced at Nicaragua American Cigars S.A. (NACSA) in Estelí, which the article says is the first time that Warped has worked with that factory.
Kyle Gellis has not replied to an e-mail seeking details and images of the cigar, as well as to confirm the accuracy of the Cigar Aficionado article.
I strive to capture the essence of a cigar and the people behind them in my work – every cigar you light up is the culmination of the work of countless people and often represents generations of struggle and stories. For me, it’s about so much more than the cigar – it’s about the story behind it, the experience of enjoying the work of artisans and the way that a good cigar can bring people together. In addition to my work with halfwheel, I’m the public address announcer for the Colorado Rockies and Arizona Diamondbacks during spring training, as well as for the Salt River Rafters of the Arizona Fall League, the WNBA's Phoenix Mercury, the G-League's Valley Suns, and previously the Arizona Rattlers of the Indoor Football League. I also work in a number of roles for Major League Baseball, plus I'm a voice over artist. Prior to joining halfwheel, I covered the Phoenix and national cigar scene for Examiner.com, and was an editor for Cigar Snob magazine.
