Warped Cigars continues to grow its portfolio and will be adding a pair of new cigars under a new header this spring.

La Hacienda will be a new, regular production Nicaraguan puro slated to debut in March or April. It will come in two sizes, a 5 5/8 x 46 Superiores and a 5 1/2 x 52 gran robusto, with single stick pricing between $7 and $8. Both sizes will come in 25-count boxes.

Kyle Gellis of Warped isn’t disclosing the specifics of the blend, though told halfwheel that information might be made available closer to the release date.

Production is being handled at TABSA, the Casa Fernández factory in Estelí, Nicaragua. It’s the second project that Warped has produced there, joining Flor del Valle, which was announced in the summer of 2014. Gellis has already announced the addition of a third size called Las Brumas, which is slated for a February 2015 launch.

I strive to capture the essence of a cigar and the people behind them in my work – every cigar you light up is the culmination of the work of countless people and often represents generations of struggle and stories. For me, it’s about so much more than the cigar – it’s about the story behind it, the experience of enjoying the work of artisans and the way that a good cigar can bring people together. In addition to my work with halfwheel, I’m the public address announcer for the Colorado Rockies and Arizona Diamondbacks during spring training, as well as for the Salt River Rafters of the Arizona Fall League, the WNBA's Phoenix Mercury and previously the Arizona Rattlers of the Indoor Football League. I also work in a number of roles for MLB.com, plus I'm a voice over artist. Prior to joining halfwheel, I covered the Phoenix and national cigar scene for Examiner.com, and was an editor for Cigar Snob magazine.
