The two new cigars that Warfighter Tobacco Co. showed off at this year’s PCA Convention & Trade Show are ready to begin shipping tomorrow.

The Warfighter Heroes Sports was created as a way to support and raise funds for Heroes Sports, a San Antonio-based charity that offers service members and veterans opportunities to play sports, as well as hunt and fish, attend concerts and other activities. A portion of the sales of the Heroes Sports cigar will be donated to the charity.

The blend uses a Mexican San Andrés wrapper atop a Nicaraguan binder and filler. It is offered in a 6 x 52 toro vitola that is priced at $11 and comes in 10-count boxes. It is joining the company’s portfolio as a regular production line.

The second cigar is the Warfighter Victory 4th Edition, the newest installment in the company’s Victory Series. It uses a Brazilian mata fina wrapper over a Nicaraguan binder and filler and comes in a 6 x 54 toro vitola. Pricing is set at $17.76 per cigar, and it is offered in 10-count boxes, with production limited to 2,000 boxes.

This is also a notable release at it is the first time a Victory Series will be sold through retail channels, as the company has previously sold it exclusively online.

Both cigars are made at Tabacalera Carreras in Estelí, Nicaragua.

I strive to capture the essence of a cigar and the people behind them in my work – every cigar you light up is the culmination of the work of countless people and often represents generations of struggle and stories. For me, it’s about so much more than the cigar – it’s about the story behind it, the experience of enjoying the work of artisans and the way that a good cigar can bring people together. In addition to my work with halfwheel, I’m the public address announcer for the Colorado Rockies and Arizona Diamondbacks during spring training, as well as for the Salt River Rafters of the Arizona Fall League, the WNBA's Phoenix Mercury and previously the Arizona Rattlers of the Indoor Football League. I also work in a number of roles for MLB.com, plus I'm a voice over artist. Prior to joining halfwheel, I covered the Phoenix and national cigar scene for Examiner.com, and was an editor for Cigar Snob magazine.
