In early June, Viaje began shipping the 2019 editions of its C-4 and TNT lines, both of which are part of the Viaje Demolition Company group and hadn’t been on the market since 2016. What wasn’t mentioned by the company was that a third line was also being shipped out: the Viaje Roman Candle.

The cigar, a 9 x 50 gran corona more commonly known as the A, first appeared in June 2012 and made returns in 2014 and 2017.

While several retailers have confirmed the cigar’s arrival, the company isn’t saying anything about it, with a company representative telling halfwheel that he had no info on any Roman Candles shipping. What has been found out about the cigar from retailer posts is that it once again returns in 15-count boxes priced at $210, or $14 per cigar.

I strive to capture the essence of a cigar and the people behind them in my work – every cigar you light up is the culmination of the work of countless people and often represents generations of struggle and stories. For me, it’s about so much more than the cigar – it’s about the story behind it, the experience of enjoying the work of artisans and the way that a good cigar can bring people together. In addition to my work with halfwheel, I’m the public address announcer for the Colorado Rockies and Arizona Diamondbacks during spring training, as well as for the Salt River Rafters of the Arizona Fall League, the WNBA's Phoenix Mercury and previously the Arizona Rattlers of the Indoor Football League. I also work in a number of roles for MLB.com, plus I'm a voice over artist. Prior to joining halfwheel, I covered the Phoenix and national cigar scene for Examiner.com, and was an editor for Cigar Snob magazine.
