Viaje’s October shipment will include versions of popular releases from the company’s portfolio.

There will be a new release of the Viaje Skull and Bones M?stery for 2020, though it’s not clear whether anything will change for the 2020 release. A post on Viaje’s social media says, “Skull and Bones M?stery makes an appearance in a shape that will remain a M?stery until arrival at retail.”

The black-banded Skull and Bones M?stery was last released in 2018, then a 4 1/2 x 58 petit gordo vitola. This will mark the 11th release for the M?stery.

In addition, retailers should expect the new Viaje Exclusivo Nicaragua Leaded Maduro, with a Mexican San Andrés wrapper. That cigar is a variation of the Viaje Exclusivo Leaded Nicaragua, which debuted in 2018, itself an offshoot of Viaje’s Exclusivo line. The Leaded designation is Viaje’s way of indicating the use of medio tiempo tobaccos, a priming on the plan that is found at the very top of only some plans. That position means that it is even stronger than the ligero priming, which is typically the highest part of the plant.

Per an email from Anthony’s Cigar Emporium, there will be three sizes:

  • Viaje Exclusivo Nicaragua Leaded Maduro Robusto (5 x 52)
  • Viaje Exclusivo Nicaragua Leaded Maduro Double Robusto (5 1/4 x 54)
  • Viaje Exclusivo Nicaragua Leaded Maduro Toro (6 x 50)

Both the regular Exclusivo and Exclusivo Nicaragua lines are Nicaragua puros, but the Exclusivo Nicaragua Leaded Maduro will be wrapped in a Mexican San Andrés wrapper.

In an email, a spokesperson for Viaje did not provide further details about the cigars.

Update (Oct. 15, 2020) — A retailer has listed the three sizes for the Viaje Exclusivo Nicaragua Leaded Maduro. This story was originally published on Oct. 9.
