Viaje has released a new size in its Platino line that will be available exclusively through Cigars International’s Bethlehem, Penn. superstore. The news was announced via Viaje’s Facebook page on March 13 but details about the release weren’t made available until earlier today.

The Viaje Platino El Gallito is a 4 7/8 x 51 figurado with a price tag of $8.40 per cigar. 200 boxes have been produced, though a specific quantity in each box has not been announced. Previous Viaje Platino releases have come in 25-count boxes, which if it holds would give this release a box price of $210.00.

Despite Farkas posting that the cigars were available on March 13, a call to the store on Wednesday afternoon indicated that they had not received them yet but expected to get them in the coming days. They are not taking pre-orders on the cigar and it will not be listed on the website when it finally arrives. Those wishing to purchase the Viaje Platino El Gallito are asked to call the store in a few days to see if they have arrived.

I strive to capture the essence of a cigar and the people behind them in my work – every cigar you light up is the culmination of the work of countless people and often represents generations of struggle and stories. For me, it’s about so much more than the cigar – it’s about the story behind it, the experience of enjoying the work of artisans and the way that a good cigar can bring people together. In addition to my work with halfwheel, I’m the public address announcer for the Colorado Rockies and Arizona Diamondbacks during spring training, as well as for the Salt River Rafters of the Arizona Fall League, the WNBA's Phoenix Mercury and previously the Arizona Rattlers of the Indoor Football League. I also work in a number of roles for Major League Baseball, plus I'm a voice over artist. Prior to joining halfwheel, I covered the Phoenix and national cigar scene for Examiner.com, and was an editor for Cigar Snob magazine.
