The latest shipment to Viaje retailers will have a pair of new cigars for familiar lines, along with the return of a line that has become a staple release for the company.

This week the company announced the Phat Jalapeño, the latest cigar for its series named after peppers. The company has declined to talk about the release, but comments left on an Instagram post indicate that it is a robusto gordo measuring 5 3/16 x 55 and will be shipping to retailers the week of Feb. 10.

Also new is the Buckshot, an addition to the company’s Shotgun Shells line. The company has declined to discuss this as well, but comments left by the company indicate it will be available in two sizes; the 12 Gauge, measuring 3 1/4 x 52, and the 10 Gauge, measuring 3 1/2 x 54. Additionally, the Buckshot is wrapped with a Mexican San Andres maduro leaf, whereas the original Super Shot is a Nicaraguan puro.

Rounding out the shipment is another batch of Viaje Super Shot Shotgun Shells, which also comes in the 10 Gauge and 12 Gauge sizes, and which debuted in 2012.

I strive to capture the essence of a cigar and the people behind them in my work – every cigar you light up is the culmination of the work of countless people and often represents generations of struggle and stories. For me, it’s about so much more than the cigar – it’s about the story behind it, the experience of enjoying the work of artisans and the way that a good cigar can bring people together. In addition to my work with halfwheel, I’m the public address announcer for the Colorado Rockies and Arizona Diamondbacks during spring training, as well as for the Salt River Rafters of the Arizona Fall League, the WNBA's Phoenix Mercury and previously the Arizona Rattlers of the Indoor Football League. I also work in a number of roles for Major League Baseball, plus I'm a voice over artist. Prior to joining halfwheel, I covered the Phoenix and national cigar scene for Examiner.com, and was an editor for Cigar Snob magazine.
