TPE, the annual tobacco industry winter trade show, has a new name. While it will still use the acronym TPE, those letters now stand for Total Product Expo instead of Tobacco Plus Expo.

The change comes as the 2023 TPE trade show will be expanding its show floor and focus to include new exhibitors that fulfill the needs of independent retailers that carry multiple product categories.

“We are really pleased with the increasing success of TPE, and are excited about the potential of our evolution to the Total Product Expo in 2023,” said Jason Carignan, president of Tobacco Media Group (TMG), the host company for TPE. “Every year we seek feedback from the show, and have consistently heard attendees ask for category expansion so more business can get done in one shot. This year we are answering the call, giving our customers an array of new exhibitors with products that their customers want and need.”

TMG said that the show, which is held at the Las Vegas Convention Center, will see its show floor grow by 30 percent, and will feature a dedicated space for the new brands and product categories. According to an announcement from the company, those new categories will include snacks, beverages, point-of-sale items, general merchandise, gifts and more.

TPE23 will be held Feb. 22 – 24, 2023, with registration scheduled to open in September.

I strive to capture the essence of a cigar and the people behind them in my work – every cigar you light up is the culmination of the work of countless people and often represents generations of struggle and stories. For me, it’s about so much more than the cigar – it’s about the story behind it, the experience of enjoying the work of artisans and the way that a good cigar can bring people together. In addition to my work with halfwheel, I’m the public address announcer for the Colorado Rockies and Arizona Diamondbacks during spring training, as well as for the Salt River Rafters of the Arizona Fall League, the WNBA's Phoenix Mercury and previously the Arizona Rattlers of the Indoor Football League. I also work in a number of roles for Major League Baseball, plus I'm a voice over artist. Prior to joining halfwheel, I covered the Phoenix and national cigar scene for Examiner.com, and was an editor for Cigar Snob magazine.
