While the initial release 333 boxes of 15 cigars happened in November 2019, our review schedule meant that this didn’t get reviewed until the beginning of 2020, thus eligible for our top 25. In November 2020, Casdagli released a second batch of Daughters of the Wind Pony Express, almost doubling the production, though a portion of that was shipped internationally.

This second release is good news for fans of this previous SmallBatchCigar.com/MAXAMAR Ultimate Cigars exclusive, as it means they can get their hands on the tweaked blend. Different from the regular production Daughters of the Wind, the Pony Express release features an Ecuadorian habano wrapper over two binders, a Costa Rican Purical and another from Estelí, Nicaragua, with a modified filler blend using Dominican oscuro ligero and Peruvian tobaccos.

The modified blend has an abundant amount of smooth, sweet and creamy flavors that give it a complex and enjoyable profile, making it easy to see how this rounds out our list at number 25. — Brian Burt.
