Over the years, Alec Bradley has produced a number of ambitious releases, but one of the most memorable creations from the company is known simply as Fine & Rare.
Since it debuted on Nov. 11, 2011, i.e. 11/11/11, each Fine & Rare release has incorporated a total of 10 different tobaccos in the blend: one wrapper, two binders and seven fillers.
Instead of a singular blend for the 2021 version—which did not actually ship to retailers until March 2022—the release includes two different cigars packaged in the same box: 10 of these Fine and Rare BC-(13)4EV, as well as a single cigar named BC-(13)4EV-B that is packaged in its own coffin that is meant to commemorate the 11th year of Fine & Rare being released.
As for the Fine and Rare BC-(13)4EV, there is plenty to love about the blend, including intense flavors of cloves, dried tea leaves and cedar that combine nicely with a rich toasted marshmallow sweetness on the retrohale. In fact, not only is it one of the best Alec Bradley creations I have smoked, it is also one of my favorite Fine and Rare releases to date. — Brooks Whittington.
