Another late December 2018 release that snuck into the 2019 awards is the Cubo Sumatra from Dapper Cigar Co.
One of four Cubo lines from the company, the Cubo Sumatra’s blend is very detailed, thanks in part to the plethora of information from the company's website. An Ecuadorian Sumatran rosado leaf grown by the Oliva Tobacco Co. is used as the wrapper, with the binder coming from Oliva’s Cofradia farm in Jalapa, Nicaragua. The filler has tobaccos again from the Cofradia farm, along with Oliva Tobacco Co.’s Guadalupe farm in Estelí and lastly some undisclosed Nicaraguan tobacco. This combination of carefully sourced tobacco creates a delightful profile that shines in the latter part of the cigar with a rich, chocolate sweetness. — Brian Burt.
