The Davidoff Diademas Finas Limited Edition 50th Anniversary is tied for fourth place, but is quite different than the original release in 2006. First, the blend was changed from a Dominican puro to a cigar covered in an Ecuadorian habano leaf covering a Dominican olor seco binder and Dominican fillers from 2005.
Second, the price has more than doubled for each of the 6 3/4 x 50 diademas—from $22 in 2006 to $36 today—and while total production numbers for the original release are not available, it was significantly fewer than the 80,000 total cigars released for the newest version.
Finally, the packaging has been totally changed, now in 10-count jars designed by Mariane Léger with art inspired by various regions: Americas, Asia, Europe and the Middle East. — Brooks Whittington.
