Tobacco Haven in Brookline, N.H. has released a second Casa Fernández-made cigar in celebration of the store’s 30th anniversary, this time with a Connecticut wrapper.

The aptly named Casa Fernández Tobacco Haven 30th Anniversary Connecticut swaps out the Nicaraguan corojo 99 wrapper found on the original release that came out in April in favor of an Ecuadorian Connecticut wrapper. This new blend is an appeal to fans of milder cigars, as well as those who like to enjoy their cigars on the golf course, according to Derek Sells, manager at Tobacco Haven.

All the other details remain the same: it’s a 7 x 52 double robusto with a Nicaraguan binder and filler. The cigar comes packed in 12-count boxes, with single cigars priced at $9.99 and boxes at $99.99. Like the original, it’s a very limited production, with just 100 boxes produced by the Casa Fernández Miami factory.

Sells noted that the store is currently exploring plans to add a third release to the series, but didn’t elaborate further.

I strive to capture the essence of a cigar and the people behind them in my work – every cigar you light up is the culmination of the work of countless people and often represents generations of struggle and stories. For me, it’s about so much more than the cigar – it’s about the story behind it, the experience of enjoying the work of artisans and the way that a good cigar can bring people together. In addition to my work with halfwheel, I’m the public address announcer for the Colorado Rockies and Arizona Diamondbacks during spring training, as well as for the Salt River Rafters of the Arizona Fall League, the WNBA's Phoenix Mercury and previously the Arizona Rattlers of the Indoor Football League. I also work in a number of roles for MLB.com, plus I'm a voice over artist. Prior to joining halfwheel, I covered the Phoenix and national cigar scene for Examiner.com, and was an editor for Cigar Snob magazine.
