Thompson Lands Quesada Oktoberfest Präsident

It’s Oktoberfest and now there’s another Oktoberfest cigar.

Quesada has created an exclusive size of its Oktoberfest blend for Tampa, Fla.-based Thompson Cigar. The new size is the Oktoberfest Präsident, which translates to president, a 7 x 50 churchill of the original Dominican blend.

This is the 13th Oktoberfest vitola to be released since the line debuted in 2011 and only the third store exclusive for the brand. The Oktoberfest Präsident is limited to 500 boxes of 10 cigars. Thompson currently has the cigars priced at $74.95 per box with a free XIKAR Xi2 cutter and lighter available with purchase.

Thompson is celebrating its 100th anniversary release this year and has created a variety of private label exclusives for the occasions, including cigars from Altadis U.S.A., Drew Estate, My Father and Padrón.

Update (Oct. 1, 2015) — A spokesperson for Thompson told halfwheel the amount of boxes if 500, not 5,000 as was originally reported.
