The second installment of The Cigar Culture’s series of cigars is set to begin shipping to retailers on Monday, Nov. 15, and it will be a collaboration with Blackbird Cigar Co.

It’s called Hawk, and is a 6 x 54 box pressed toro. The blend uses a Brazilian cubra wrapper, Mexican San Andrés binder, and fillers from Nicaragua and the Dominican Republic. It is produced by at Blackbird’s factory in the Dominican Republic.

Production is limited to 600 boxes of 14 cigars, with an MSRP of $196 per box and $14 per cigar.

“This project is very important to us as ‘The Cigar Culture’ because of the non traditional idealism on cigars and how it has been part of our core values since day one,” said Adrian Acosta, co-founder of The Cigar Culture, via a press release. “Blackbird Cigar Co. expresses this as a cigar company through their unorthodox marketing approach on premium tobacco. As a community we have seen a heavier boutique presence and how these limited runs have captivated so many new and experienced palates.”

The Cigar Culture’s debut release, Culture Blend No. 3, was released in Sept. 2020.

I strive to capture the essence of a cigar and the people behind them in my work – every cigar you light up is the culmination of the work of countless people and often represents generations of struggle and stories. For me, it’s about so much more than the cigar – it’s about the story behind it, the experience of enjoying the work of artisans and the way that a good cigar can bring people together. In addition to my work with halfwheel, I’m the public address announcer for the Colorado Rockies and Arizona Diamondbacks during spring training, as well as for the Salt River Rafters of the Arizona Fall League, the WNBA's Phoenix Mercury and previously the Arizona Rattlers of the Indoor Football League. I also work in a number of roles for Major League Baseball, plus I'm a voice over artist. Prior to joining halfwheel, I covered the Phoenix and national cigar scene for Examiner.com, and was an editor for Cigar Snob magazine.
