Tatuaje’s CiGWAR Returns for 2015
Fans of cigars and the band GWAR will once again have the opportunity to smoke a cigar made for the noted heavy metal band.
Pete Johnson of Tatuaje has confirmed that the Tatuaje CiGWAR will be back for a second year, although in slightly different form. While it will still be a 5 x 50 robusto sold in three-packs, this year’s version will use an Ecuadorian Sancti Spiritus maduro wrapper over Nicaraguan binder and fillers. Last year’s version used a Connecticut broadleaf wrapper.
Like last year, the cigars will go on sale at the band’s annual GWAR B-Q, which takes place on Aug. 15 in Richmond, Va., and then sold through Havana Connections.
George “Shorty” Koebel, owner of Havana Connections, told halfwheel that the cigars will go on the store’s website the following Monday, Aug. 17. Pricing will be the same as last year, $34.99 per three-pack.
There will be 1,500 packs made this year, half of the amount that was produced last year. Koebel told halfwheel that the store still has some of the original packs left as he put aside some for a patio at GWARbar that was never completed.
