Tatuaje and L’Atelier Imports are sister brands and now they have their own cigar to share.

While the companies have teamed up to share both space and recently a special coffin release containing one cigar from each brand, but now the two Pete Johnson-owned brands will now have a product with co-branding: Négociant.

As with many things Johnson, the name comes from the wine world. Négociants are winemakers who buy wine or grapes from other growers or producers and use it to create wines of their own. Sometimes a négociant will buy grapes and complete the rest of the process, other times a négociant could buy nearly completed wine and use it to produce their own blended wine.

The cigar uses an Ecuadorian Connecticut wrapper, Mexican and Nicaraguan binders and Nicaraguan fillers. Johnson told halfwheel the cigar does not contain Sancti Spiritus tobacco, the signature leaf of L’Atelier Imports.

There will be three sizes made: 5 x 52, 6 1/4 x 48 and a 5 3/4 x 52 belicoso. Johnson said pricing is not finalized, but it will come in boxes of 25.

The 2016 IPCPR Convention & Trade Show begins July 25 in Las Vegas, Nev.
