Pete Johnson is once again digging into Tatuaje’s archives, announcing on Wednesday that the Fausto Up Down 10/50 will be heading back to the Chicago retailer next week.

The cigar, which was originally released in October 2013, gets its name from the celebration of two anniversaries: the 10th anniversary of Tatuaje and the 50th anniversary of Up Down Cigar. It is a 6 3/8 x 43 lonsdale, and like the regular production Fausto vitolas it uses an Ecuadorian habano maduro wrapper over Nicaraguan binders and fillers.

Johnson told halfwheel that the redux of the Fausto Up Down 10/50 will have an MSRP of $10.50, with production limited to 500 boxes of 20 cigars. That’s an increase from the original release when there was 200 boxes of 20 cigars produced.

The original Tatuaje Fausto Up Down 10/50 placed #13 on halfwheel’s Top 25 Cigars of 2013.

I strive to capture the essence of a cigar and the people behind them in my work – every cigar you light up is the culmination of the work of countless people and often represents generations of struggle and stories. For me, it’s about so much more than the cigar – it’s about the story behind it, the experience of enjoying the work of artisans and the way that a good cigar can bring people together. In addition to my work with halfwheel, I’m the public address announcer for the Colorado Rockies and Arizona Diamondbacks during spring training, as well as for the Salt River Rafters of the Arizona Fall League, the WNBA's Phoenix Mercury and previously the Arizona Rattlers of the Indoor Football League. I also work in a number of roles for MLB.com, plus I'm a voice over artist. Prior to joining halfwheel, I covered the Phoenix and national cigar scene for Examiner.com, and was an editor for Cigar Snob magazine.
