Today we will be taking a look at a recent Tatuaje limited store release, the CMF5 (Cigar Más Fino 5), which was created for the 5th anniversary of a store in Fresno, CA called Cigar Más Fino. The Blend is quite simple it’s a Havana VI Nobles with a high priming wrapper, which means the wrapper leaf was taken off a higher part of the leaf, giving it a darker and richer profile because of the amount of sun the leaf has seen. The cigar is also slightly different than the Nobles in that it has a closed foot and bears a second Verocu style band. The Cigars themselves are even packaged in a Nobles type box as well, with a sticker signifying the fact that it has Más Finos in it…

Here are some photos of the box for the Más Fino…

The cigar is a nice looking creation it has a beautiful dark chocolate wrapper with minimal veins and a real nice oily sheen (winning!) to it. There is a bit of tooth in the wrapper but it feels incredible smooth at the same time. The cigar has a really tight seamless wrap and is firm to the touch. The head has a perfect Pepín style triple cap and the foot is unfinished. The whole difference in this cigar from the Nobles is the High priming wrapper and I must say you can definitely tell that the wrapper is a darker shade and also has much more oil to it than your average Havana VI Nobles. The pre-light aroma is leathery with some dark chocolate and a little bit of spice. The pre-light draw offers some wood, chocolate and a mellow tobacco note.

Starting off in the First Third the cigar has very little spice but a lot of pepper on the back of the tongue and on the finish. Initial flavors are a light cocoa, dark espresso and a woody flavor. The cigar is just under medium body to start and has a real clean and crisp peppery finish.

Coming into the Second Third I start to get a nice little spice kick through the nose and on my tongue with a good amount of pepper as well. The cigar changes up flavor wise with the espresso mellowing to a coffee bean flavor, I start to get a touch of leather and the smoke turns real creamy and thick. The draw is great and the ash holds on for a long while although at times the burn gets a little uneven.

Finishing up in the Final Third the cigar is just incredibly smooth and mellow with creamy flavors of cocoa, wood, coffee and a nice leathery note on the finish. The spice and pepper have died down considerably. All the way to the nub the cigar stays cool and flavorful.

The Bottom Line: This was a very good cigar and a nice change from the regular Havana VI Nobles. I found this one to be more flavorful and a lot smoother. It had nice complexity to it in that it changed up every third and kept things interesting. I have to say I don’t smoke a lot of Havana VI’s, but if this was a regular production cigar I would smoke them a lot more often. I think that high priming wrapper not only looks nice, dark and oily but it offers deeper, smoother flavors to the blend. Unfortunately these are long sold out so if you want some you will be forced to look on the forums and pay a premium but if you have a chance grab a few.

Final Score: 91
