The original six Tatuaje Brown Label sizes will each be offered with an Ecuadorian rosado habano claro wrapper later this year.

Pete Johnson of Tatuaje confirmed to halfwheel that his growing Escasos Collection, a variety of limited production Miami-made cigars, will include the special versions of the original Brown Label vitolas.

Those six sizes—often known as HUNTER due the first letter of the name of each size—were the original cigars of the line known as Selcción de Cazador, which translates to hunter selection. For the new line, they will be referred to with Escasos and then the first letter of the corresponding size.

  • Tatuaje Escasos HC (6 3/8 x 43)
  • Tatuaje Escasos U (6 1/8 x 52)
  • Tatuaje Escasos N (5 1/8 x 42)
  • Tatuaje Escasos T (7 5/8 x 49)
  • Tatuaje Escasos E (7 1/2 x 38)
  • Tatuaje Escasos R (5 1/2 x 50)

Like the rest of the Escasos concept, those six cigars will be limited production. Johnson told halfwheel that he will make occasional batches of 50 boxes of each size. The cigars will be previewed at the Saints & Sinners Megaherf, which takes place April 13 at Ambassador Fine Cigars in Peoria, Ariz.

Pricing will be higher than the Brown Label versions of the cigars.

Johnson also had a dog named Hunter.

Update (March 12, 2019) — Johnson clarified that the Havana Cazadores size will be known as Escasos HC.
