It may only be September, but Tarazona’s holiday release is already arriving at stores.

The Tarazona Misfit Toys is packaged in wrapping paper, like a Christmas present. The cigar is a 5 x 50 double perfecto that uses three different wrappers: Ecuadorian habano, Ecuadorian maduro and candela. Underneath is a Nicaraguan binder and Nicaraguan fillers.

Misfit Toys has an MSRP of $14 per cigar. It is limited to 500 bundles of 10 cigars, though each wrapped package only includes five cigars.

While the cigar itself is quite interesting, the artwork for the packaging was the most talked-about aspect of the release when Misfit Toys was shown off at the 2021 PCA Convention & Trade Show in July. Tarazona commissioned David Angelo Roman—an artist best known for his work on Rick and Morty, a comic book and television show—to produce the artwork.

Misfit Toys was originally scheduled to ship in November, but Tarazona opted to ship the cigars earlier, alongside its Halloween-themed cigar.

“Shops were wanting them sooner so we began sending them out along with La Bruja Broomstick,” said Eddie Tarazona, founder of Tarazona, in an email to halfwheel. We are really surprised by the reception of these two.”
