Fresh off a new production and distribution agreement with T.L. Johnson, Eddie Tarazona is ready to bring a revamped version of the Guerrilla 305 to market.
Guerrilla 305 is moving to Johnson’s Tabacalera TLJ in the Dominican Republic. While Tarazona will keep the blend the same—Ecuadorian HVA wrapper, Ecuadorian habano binder and criollo 98, corojo and HVA fillers—there will be two changes to the line.
The Silverback vitola will change form a 6 1/2 x 60 parejo to a 6 x 60 belicoso. In addition, the BlackSheep—a limited lancero—will now be a box-pressed 7 x 38 vitola, instead of round, and is expected to use a different wrapper. Tarazona said he hasn’t finalized exactly what the wrapper might be, but said he planned on making it a maduro version.
The Tarazona BlackSheep 2015 will be limited to 900 boxes of 10 with pricing around $10.50 per cigar. It is expected to ship in the fall.
Also shipping in the fall is the company’s new limited edition line, Sangreal.
Tarazona wasn’t ready to disclose the blend yet, but it will also be made at Tabacalera TLJ.
Three size will be made: Robusto (5 1/4 x 52), Toro Extra (6 1/4 x 54) and a box-pressed Lancero (7 x 38). The larger sizes will be sold in boxes of 20, while the Lancero is offered in boxes of 10.
Sangreal is limited to 333 boxes of each size and 60 accounts. Tarazona told halfwheel that pricing is expected to be from $9.50-13.
Both lines will be shown off to retailers at next week’s IPCPR Convention & Trade Show in New Orleans, La.
