After skipping releases for 2022 and 2023, Habanos S.A.’s Colección Habanos series—large, expensive cigars that come in boxes designed to look like books—returns with a new San Cristóbal de La Habana.

All those price increases have quite literally paid off.

This release is limited to just 200 humidors of 50 cigars.

Habanos S.A. will celebrate the 50th anniversary of Quai d’Orsay with an event this week in Havana. The star of the show will be the new Especial d’Orsay.

Sources have told halfwheel that these cigars were once targeted as 2022 Edición Limitada cigars, then 2023 Edición Limitada cigars. They will in fact be 2024 Edición Limitada cigars.

The Robustos Extra was discontinued in 2012, brought back as a limited edition in 2020 and will come back again as part of the Trinidad brand’s 55th anniversary.

Habanos S.A. is not immune to the trend of applying lots of bands to short cigars.
