Retail members of the Tobacconists’ Association of America (TAA) will have the opportunity to receive a new variant of the Herrera Estelí brand. Drew Estate has announced that this year, it will release a Herrera Estelí TAA.
The 6 x 52 vitola features a Connecticut broadleaf wrapper, Brazilian mata fina binders and Nicaraguan fillers. The blend is entirely new, the first time the Herrera Estelí name has used a broadleaf wrapper.
“This is my first blend since joining Drew Estate that utilizes Connecticut Broadleaf tobacco,” said Willy Herrera, Drew Estate’s master blender, in a press release. “Drew Estate fans know that we’re famous for our use of Connecticut Broadleaf tobaccos, especially in our Liga Privada No. 9 and Nica Rustica lines. I’ve been experimenting with blends that incorporate this incredible wrapper since coming on board and finally have a blend I’m really excited about.”
Pricing for the Herrera Estelí TAA is $12 per cigar or $144 per box of 12. The cigar will ship in April.
CLE, Crowned Heads, La Flor Dominicana, My Father and Tatuaje have all announced its TAA releases for this year.
The TAA is an organization of approximately 80 retailers who meet each year to discuss issues facing the cigar industry and also to hold a private trade show with select manufacturers. In recent years, many of those companies have created special cigars exclusive to members of the TAA.
This is the third variant of Herrera Estelí following the original and Norteño. The cigar uses the same main band as Tienda Exclusiva by Willy Herrera, a collection of two single store releases.
