Platinum Nova—a relatively new brand launched by Leonor “Leo” Abzaradel and Aurelio “Ari” Riego—will now be distributed by Sutliff Tobacco Co., a pipe tobacco company.

“Sutliff brings a multitude of third party distribution experience and success. Their top notch customer service and order fulfilment experience allows us, your Nova Sales Team, the opportunity to focus our efforts on increased brand recognition, expanded product placement, specialized events and so much more,” said Riego, the company’s president, in a letter sent to retailers.

Sutliff is a pipe tobacco company that was spun off from Altadis U.S.A. and sold to Mac Baren Tobacco Company A/S in 2013. Mac Baren is a nearly 200-year-old pipe tobacco company based in Denmark that also doesn’t have any cigar brands.

Platinum Nova says the move is effective immediately and that Mac Baren will begin to fulfill and process orders for existing customers.
