“Because you asked over and over,” is how Dan Welsh, one of L’Atelier Imports’ co-founders, Instagram post announcing the cigar began.

Inevitably people wanted a smaller version of the company’s Animal Cracker (6 x 60), but a large version of the popular Cracker Crumbs (4 1/2 x 38). Enter AC550.

The new 5 x 50 robusto version features the same Ecuadorian habano oscuro wrapper over Nicaraguan binder and filler blend as the other two cigars, but the new cigar will feature a covered foot.

Pete Johnson, another L’Atelier co-founder, told halfwheel the cigar will begin shipping in “spring,” with a suggested retail price of $8.25 and in 20-count boxes.

Surrogates is made at My Father Cigars S.A. in Estelí, Nicaragua.
