Justin Andrews has been promoted to new business development manager of Scandinavian Tobacco Group’s (STG) North American Branded and Rest of World divisions.

The new role will mean that Andrews will serve as the point person between STG and the non-STG factories that make cigars for brands distributed by STG’s General Cigar Co. and Forged Cigar Co. divisions. He will report to Chris Tarr, vp of marketing for General Cigar Co.

Andrews will also continue to lead the Diesel brand—his current title is senior brand manager for Diesel—which is distributed by Forged Cigar Co. and made by AJ Fernández. In addition to his work with Diesel, he has also worked with other factories including El Titan de Bronze and La Zona Cigar Factory to produce cigars sold by General Cigar Co. but produced at third-party factories.

“This new role will have me working with STG’s amazing team and collaborating with many cigar makers that I admire,” said Andrews in a press release. “It’s an opportunity for me to leave an imprint on the handmade cigar category, even if much of the work that I’m doing will be behind the scenes. We have many exciting collaborations in the works and with the power of STG, we’re going to make things happen. Expect to see a lot more of me, and more importantly, and a lot of excitement coming from STG.”

Andrews will begin his new role on Nov. 1.
