Southern Draw Cigars has released nearly a dozen new sizes to its portfolio, adding vitolas to its Kudzu and Firethorn lines as well as to all three blends of its QuickDraw line.

For the Kudzu and Firethorn lines, the company has added a Belicoso Fino (5 1/2 x 50) and a pair of Perfectos, one measuring 5 x 58 and the other 6 x 56. These will all be available in 20-count boxes, 20-count bundles and the company’s DRAWpak option which contain between two and five cigars. They join a pair of lanceros that had been previously announced, the Kudzu Axil Lancero and Firethorn Pome Lancero, both measuring 6 1/2 x 40 with an MSRP of $8.99 and available in the same packaging options.

The three blends of the QuickDraw line, QuickDraw Broadleaf, QuickDraw Habano and QuickDraw Connecticut, each get a Corona Gorda (5 1/2 x 46) that comes in 25-count boxes and bundles as well as the DRAWpak option. The Short Panatela (5 1/2 x 40) that was previously announced for the QuickDraw Connecticut line ($5.50) is also being added to the other two blends and is available in the same packaging.

All of the new sizes have begun shipping to retailers, with the company calling them a limited annual production addition, with Tabacalera AJ Fernandez Cigars de Nicaragua S.A. making the cigars. Pricing for the new sizes has not been disclosed by the company.

While Southern Draw did not attend the annual IPCPR Convention & Trade Show, the company has been busy retooling its portfolio, including announcing a pair of new lines, Jacobs Ladder and Rose of Sharon, as well as updated packaging for its entire catalog.

I strive to capture the essence of a cigar and the people behind them in my work – every cigar you light up is the culmination of the work of countless people and often represents generations of struggle and stories. For me, it’s about so much more than the cigar – it’s about the story behind it, the experience of enjoying the work of artisans and the way that a good cigar can bring people together. In addition to my work with halfwheel, I’m the public address announcer for the Colorado Rockies and Arizona Diamondbacks during spring training, as well as for the Salt River Rafters of the Arizona Fall League, the WNBA's Phoenix Mercury and previously the Arizona Rattlers of the Indoor Football League. I also work in a number of roles for MLB.com, plus I'm a voice over artist. Prior to joining halfwheel, I covered the Phoenix and national cigar scene for Examiner.com, and was an editor for Cigar Snob magazine.
