The Sosa brand of cigars will be getting a big addition at the IPCPR trade show and convention, the Sosa Limitado Stout Torpedo. Antillian Cigar Corporation, parent of Sosa, plans to release the 7 x 54 Torpedo in mid-July, but says production will be limited to between 80-100 boxes per month because the company will use just a single roller to make the cigar.

Made at the Puros Indios Miami factory, the Torpedo uses an Ecuadorian Habano Oscuro wrapper with fillers from Nicaraguan and the Dominican Republic and apparently shares some traces to the company’s Underground line. Priced at $15.00 per cigars or $150.00 per box of 10, the cigar is believed to be the most expensive for the company to date.

Having only one roller is not a new concept to the cigar industry. Habanos S.A. has done it numerous times, particularly with Norma Fernández—who most notably rolled the Behike—but it’s become a domestic marketing component lately with the success of La Palina’s Goldie line.
