A Russian senator has proposed raising the minimum age to purchase tobacco from 18 to 21 years of age.

Senator Anton Belyakov introduced the bill. It comes after tobacco tax increases and smoking bans have been introduced.

If passed, Russia would join Honduras, Kuwait, Samoa and Sri Lanka as countries where you must be 21 to purchase tobacco.
