Last week, Coles of London began shipping the new Ligne 2 Gold Dust lighter to American retailers.

Technically, this is not new. S.T.Dupont sold the Ligne 2 Gold Dust in the 1990s but it was long discontinued. Les Mann, who joined Coles of London in 2021, pushed for S.T.Dupont to dig into its archives and bring back previous models, which is exactly what it’s done.

Like other Ligne 2 lighters, it features two flame nozzles allowing it to create a wider flame. To use the lighter, the user opens the flip-top lid—creating a signature pinging sound—and then flicks the roller wheel to the left using their right thumb. This turns the flint and lights the dual flames.

The lighter is made of brass with lacquer and gold vermeil trim. The star of the show is the gold dust that is added to the lacquer parts of the lighter.

It has an MSRP of $1,395 and is limited to 150 pieces.

Coles of London is the American distributor for S.T.Dupont.
