Next month, a round version of the Oliva Serie V Melanio Double Robusto will head to Casa de Montecristo stores nationwide.

Oliva’s popular Melanio line is typically sold in a box-pressed format, but the company has released round versions of the blend in limited quantities over the years. Now, the 5 x 54 double robusto size is getting the round treatment as an exclusive for Casa de Montecristo, a nationwide chain of cigar stores.

Like the regular Melanio blend, it uses an Ecuadorian Sumatra wrapper over a Nicaraguan binder and Nicaragua fillers.

The MSRP is set at $11.75 per cigar and it will be sold in boxes of 10 cigars. It is expected to arrive in Casa de Montecristo stores on Feb. 2, 2023.

“We are continuously looking for quality premium products that can be found nowhere else, to offer Casa de Montecristo’s adult clientele,” said Brad Winstead, ceo of Casa de Montecristo, in a press release. “We are thrilled to have this opportunity to partner with Oliva and offer our guests an exclusive size from Oliva’s most prestigious line.”

There are roughly 30 Casa de Montecristo stores around the country, spanning nearly a dozen states and the District of Columbia. Some are owned by Tabacalera USA, the same company that owns Altadis U.S.A. and JR Cigar, while others are franchise locations owned by independent operators.
